Some Frequently asked questions

Missing a Lesson:

Lessons that are missed are considered forfeited. As we work on a tight schedule make up lessons tend to be impossible. It is unfortunate that children get sickand have unforeseen commitments that interfere with lessons, but our teachers make a commitment to be at the pool and need to earn their salary accordingly. Fees are still payable for lessons missed.

Termination/changing of Lessons:

Two month’s written notice is required in the event of terminating or changing lessons times/slots

Arriving on Time:

Please make sure you arrive on time and allow some time before your child’s swimming lessonbegins, so that they are ready for their lesson and not rushed but rather relaxed. Late arrivals will result in receiving only the remaining time of that lesson.

Payment:

Fees are charged upfront for the month and are to be paid by no later than the 5th of the current month. Interest will be charged onto your account for late payments. (An annual fee increase will happen every1 January).

WHY ARE LEARN TO SWIM CLASSES ONLY 15 MINUTES?

Young children learn better in a short space of time. Their concentration is better and they do not tire. Our lessons are very carefully put together to make use of all 15 minutes and to the benefit of the young child

WHY DO WE HAVE A DOUBLE-NAPPY POLICY?

Health & Safety is our number one concern here at Water Warriors Swim School and we follow the STA guidelines when it comes to health and safety in our pools and our classes In the event of a spill we have no choice but to cancel lessons for the rest of the day, in order to treat and test the pool. This is a costly exercise and an inconvenience to all those affected including teachers, parents & swimmers as lessons have to be made up on an alternative day.

Water Warriors adhere to a double-nappy policy.

All children whoare not fully potty-trained regardless of age must wear a tight-fitting Splash Nappy**(or similar alternative) with a close-fitting leg and waist ribs on top with a "Huggies Little Swimmer" underneath it. (cloth nappies, regular nappies, are not acceptable) A full fitted costume is still required to be worn over all this, a swimmers nappy is not seen as a costume, and swimmers will not be allowed into the pool if the above is not adhered too.

WHAT DO I DO IF MY CHILD IS CRYING?

We will be nurturing and ask you to trust us in what we are doing. We ask that you give us your full100% commitment to work with your child regardless of their fear of the water if they do have one. Please remember it can take a bit of time for a young child in a different environment and in water to trust and settle down. Sometimes it will take a few lessons. We encourage you to chat to your child about swimming before coming and get them excited, and give them recognition after each lesson for doing so well.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD MY CHILD ATTEND SWIMMING LESSONS?

The minimum is one lesson per week. If your budget allows then we recommend that for skill development and regular practice 2x lessons a week will benefit your child.
